About The Artist
Born and raised in the piedmont region of North Carolina. Beaver began his career in the homebuilding industry and then moved on into the home Accents and furniture design industry. Also doing Antiques as a sideline business as well.
He didn’t start painting until later in his career. He started experimenting with oils and decided that’s what he liked. Self taught and his sometimes out of the box approach, he works with an abundance amount of paint creating a thick texture on the board.
Beaver describes his style as impressionist or sometimes contemporary impressionistic. He uses a large brush and sometimes a palate knife to get the affect and strokes he desires. He strives to get the the right colors and light balance to his paintings, with deep and rich color tones, paying special attention to the shadows. He takes most of his reference photos in the early morning or late afternoon when the shadows are long.
